Round-table meeting "Modern integrated airport management systems and the issue of their implementation under reform" organized by SAP Ukraine and Soft-Rating Consult was held with the support of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Tourism of Ukraine
The round-table meeting "Modern integrated airport management systems and the issue of their implementation under reform" was held in the Ministry of Infrastructure and Tourism on March 1, 2012. It was planned and organized pursuant to the wishes and recommendations of participants of the International Scientific Presentation Conference "Modern systems based on SAP solutions for business management of enterprises of transport and communication industry under reform" on March 17, 2011.
Catherine Mykhailychenko, a Deputy Director of Policy Development Infrastructure of Transport and Tourism Department of Ministry of Infrastructure and Tourism of Ukraine, greeted the participants of the roundtable.
On the part of co-organizers of the meeting, Michael Diehl, a representative of SAP Deutschland AG & Co. KG and Director of Travel + Transportation Industry Team for EMEA territory, gave his welcome address and Olga Belyachenko, a Commercial Director of Soft-Rating Consult (SAP service partner), made a brief presentation of the company.
The purpose of the event - to acquaint the representatives of Ukraine Airports with experience of using SAP information technologies at airports, to consider various aspects of using IT for needs of airport facilities, and to introduce potential opportunities to increase its profitability by using information technologies with examples of implementation in Serbia, Germany, Russia and other countries.
During the discussion the specialists of SAP Deutschland AG, SAP West Balkans d.o.o., Soft-Rating Consult and T-Systems CIS answered the questions from airports representatives about aspects of SAP technology use in airports, economic assessment of implementation, timing and sequence of projects implementation.
Roundtable participants noted the urgent need for resolving issues on the agenda at airports by appropriate IT, and good organization of the event.
In the next issue of magazine "ITM. Information Technologies for Management" its journalists will describe the event from their own point of view and evaluate its significance for the industry.
