Georgian-Ukrainian Business Forum «Leadership through Innovation»

Georgian Government has directed its attention to the innovative information technology as an important factor for fast modernization of economy and to achieve leading position in the Caucasus region.

An important event that demonstrated special attention of new Georgian Government to the key issues of national economic development took place in Tbilisi on April 26, 2013. Business Forum "Leadership through Innovation", co-initiated by - Georgian-Ukrainian trade-economic council and consulting company Soft-Rating Consult (Ukraine) and supported by SAP, gathered together the government officials, representatives of the Georgian and Ukrainian businesses, and journalists, in "Tbilisi Marriott Hotel"

Meeting with Prime Minister of Georgia before the Business Forum "Leadership Through Innovation"



























Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili in his speech stressed that it was a great honor to him to welcome representatives of business of the country, which is a friend of Georgia. "In the nearest several years, Georgia will be a unique country for business, as there will be independent media and stable political and business environment. No official will dare intervene in activities of business. I assure you that condition for doing business will not be worse in Georgia, compared with European and American countries" - said the Prime Minister.

Welcoming remarks were made by the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili, the Minister of Finance Nodar Khaduri, the Minister for Regional Development and Infrastructure David Narmaniya, the Minister of Energy Kakha Kaladze. Ukraine were represented by Yuri Yaremenko, the President of Georgian-Ukrainian trade-economic council, Olga Belyachenko – the Commercial Director of Soft-Rating Consult, Arthur Zahorodnykov , NABU Council Member (Independent Association of Banks of Ukraine)and chairman of the Committee for Regulatory Policy and Oversight.


Representative of SAP - Sean Patrick O’Brien Global VP of Urban Matters and Public Security in his speech thanked the Government of Georgia for the opportunity to participate in the Forum and opportunity to become acquainted with the culture of the Georgian people.

He said: "From an SAP point of view, what we do appreciate is in terms of business – business being efficient, business being effective, business being able to innovate, business being able to better serve the customers. We understand the technology value, that that complain in modern economies and in businesses that gonna grow and they gonna look after customers.
   So the first thing on your journey that you have a country that is providing opportunity to grow, to innovate, to transform. We understand the business or technology in business, so that is the first thing that we being supportive in.
    The second thing is that we understand the government. We’ve being working with governments for thirty years, and we understand the importance the government has in setting the right framework for economic growth. And if you look at World Economic Forum global competitive reports, so you look at liability reports across the world. I think that key to open success are the right economic conditions and the right infrastructure, the right government capabilities to support that... We think technology is critical, a critical enabler to successful economies, to successful government. And we would like, we’ll be honored if we could play a role in the future in Georgia supporting how you innovate and transform in business and in government."


After the break, SAP Global VP delivered the reports "SAP strategy: innovation, expertise, best business practices" and "SAP industry solution for the public sector. E-Government. Innovative technology. Best world achievements".


Olga Belyachenko, the Commercial Director of Soft-Rating Consult, , told in her speech about 20 years company’s experience of implementing SAP solutions and pointed that the basis of success of projects was the significant experience in 65 projects, including SAP ERP implementation in two Georgian companies - Tegeta Motors and Caucasus Online. For all of the leading economic sectors and public administration of Georgia, SAP has the appropriate solutions, and Soft-Rating Consult has the required experience to use this potential for success and prosperity of Georgia.
























Business Forum was also supported by our partners: HP Ukraine, Independent Association of Banks of Ukraine (NABU), НTS (system integrator, Georgia), Caucasus Online (internet service provider, Georgia), Constructive Lawyers (law firm, Ukraine) with the assistance of Partnership Fund (Georgia) and Georgian National Investment Agency..
More than 250 people representing 11 economic sectors and public administration of Georgia and Ukraine participated in the Forum.
In the plenary session of the Business Forum reports were made by representatives of the Government of Georgia, and such companies as SAP, HP and Soft-Rating Consult.
In two parallel sessions 6 reports were presented by specialists of Soft-Rating Consult, 5 reports about the experience of using IT for business were presented by representatives of SAP client ("Blitz-Inform" (Ukraine), "Centravis Production Ukraine»; Caucasus Online (Georgia); Prominvestbank (Ukraine), and 2 reports by SAP and HP.
